On November 4, the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference organized a thematic inspection and consultation symposium with the theme "Artificial Intelligence Empowers Traditional Industries to Promote High-Quality Development in Beiliu." Chen Suzhen, Chairperson of the Municipal CPPCC, along with Vice Chairpersons Yang Ling, Qiu Xiongying, and Liang Rong, gathered with representatives from relevant municipal functional departments, members of the CPPCC from both the Yulin and Beiliu levels, and heads of some key enterprises to discuss strategies for industrial upgrading.

At the symposium, representatives from the Municipal Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Science and Technology, the Management Committee of the Beiliu Industrial Park in the Two Bays Area, the Municipal Bureau of Big Data Development and Government Services, the Municipal People's Hospital, and Beiliu Town delivered speeches, providing detailed reports on the exploration paths, phased achievements, and current practical challenges in the application of artificial intelligence within their respective fields. CPPCC members such as Luo Anzheng, Tang Guokang, and Gu Cong engaged in in-depth discussions centered on the theme, proposing multiple targeted and actionable suggestions based on practical experience.
In her speech, Chen Suzhen pointed out that artificial intelligence, as the core driving force leading the new round of industrial transformation, holds significant importance for the development of Beiliu. Traditional industries such as ceramics and toys in Beiliu serve as the foundation for local economic development. However, some enterprises currently exhibit insufficient understanding of artificial intelligence, along with a low coverage rate of intelligent transformation. Additionally, challenges such as a significant talent gap and weak technological support have become prominent, making it urgent to break through the bottlenecks in industrial upgrading. Chen Suzhen emphasized the following requirements: all departments must enhance their political stance, incorporate AI empowerment into the annual key performance assessments, formulate a three-year action plan for the intelligent transformation of traditional industries, and establish a "green channel" for talent recruitment to solidify the foundation for industrial upgrading. Efforts should focus on key areas with precision, promoting the adoption of intelligent quality inspection systems in ceramic enterprises and the establishment of digital design platforms in toy enterprises. At the same time, advancements should be made in smart medical diagnosis and treatment and the "one-stop online government services" application, while creating demonstration bases for smart cultivation of distinctive agricultural products such as passion fruit and lychee to stimulate industrial vitality through targeted initiatives. It is essential to unite the efforts of the government, enterprises, and associations, with CPPCC members taking the lead in driving the accelerated transition from "Made in Beiliu" to "Intelligently Made in Beiliu," thereby injecting new momentum into local high-quality development.

Before the meeting, the participants also conducted on-site visits to Xiongcheng Porcelain, Zhenmei Toys' ongoing construction projects, and the Municipal People's Hospital. They observed firsthand the application scenarios of artificial intelligence in enhancing industrial manufacturing quality and improving the efficiency of medical services, gaining a direct understanding of the practical outcomes enabled by technological empowerment.
